The Department of Natural Sciences was established in 2024 by merging the Department of Natural Sciences with Teaching Methods and the Department of Ecology, Geography and Chemistry. It functions as part of the Faculty of Psychology and Natural Sciences of the Rivne State Humanitarian University.

The department is a graduate department and provides training for specialists in the following specialties: 014.15 Secondary Education (Natural Sciences), 014.07 Secondary Education (Geography), 014.05 Secondary Education (Biology and Human Health), 011 Ecology of the first and second levels of higher education and 014.06 Secondary Education (Chemistry) of the first level of higher education.

The main goal of the Department of Natural Sciences is to create conditions for high-quality training of future teachers of natural sciences, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and environmental specialists.

In the next five years, the work of the department is aimed at providing higher education students with new educational and teaching-methodical literature, strengthening work in the field of forming high-quality scientific and pedagogical potential, increasing the professionalism of the teaching staff, and organizing scientific and research work of students in natural sciences and methods of their teaching.
